Danbo FAQ
Can I install Windows?
Technically, yes. You need to load VirtIO drivers into the Windows installer, otherwise it will not be able to see your disk.
We intentionally do not offer Quick Install for Windows, because frankly, besides privacy and security concerns, it attracts blatant abusers that have no idea what they’re doing.
If you choose to install Windows on your Danbo, you are on your own and we do not offer any support for anything Windows-related.
Do you block any ports? Can I host a mail server?
No ports are blocked, so yes, you can host a mail server. You can manage rDNS (PTR) records yourself through the dashboard.
Can I change the specs of my Danbo after purchase?
Yes, you can change your specs through the dashboard (if the node your VM is on has enough free hardware). You can also add/remove IPv4 addresses.
If the offer price changes, will my service stay at the same price I bought it at?
Yes. No matter what, your service’s monthly price will stay the same, unless you change its specs or add IPv4 addresses.
Which operating systems can I install?
The dashboard offers a curated list of popular Linux cloud images you can install directly. You can also specify a custom URL pointing to a cloud-init compatible image, or mount an ISO and do the setup manually through the console.
Only Linux-based operating systems (kernel 2.6+, x86(-64) architecture) and BSDs are officially supported and guaranteed to work.
